L’Iran….
La magie d’une histoire, les portes de l’histoire de demain... Mystérieusement tout se croise, le chaud et le froid, la rigueur et la liberté, la carrure et la féminité, le noir et la couleur… Pays aux douceurs culinaires appuyées sur le raffinement des architectures, l’ombre des eucalyptus vibrante dans les cours d’eau dévalant des montagnes enneigées…De Téhéran la trépidante à la sage Ispahan une fine ligne de goudron à travers un désert de sable et de roches relie ses deux villes que tout oppose.
The magic of a history, doors of the history of tomorrow… Mysteriously everything crosses, the warmth and the cold, the rigor and the freedom, the stature and the femininity, the black and the color … Country in the culinary sweetnesses pressed the refinement of the architectures, the vibrating shade of the eucalyptus in streams tumbling down snowy mountains … From Tehran the hectic in the wise person Isfahan a fine line of tar through a desert of sand and rocks connects its two cities which everything brings into conflict.

Douceur, tendresse, humour et exigence… couleurs, lumières, odeurs et gentillesse… délicatesse, finesse, saveurs et action…. Aller à sa vitesse dans un univers où tout va très vite, où la vitesse du soleil nous semble plus rapide qu’aux pays du soleil couchant. Comme l’écrin d’un bijou, en ouvrant la boîte nous découvrons tout la finesse et le raffinement de gestes traditionnels quotidiens. Au milieu des collines boisées, nous parcourons les ateliers de fabrication de papier Washi avec la tradition de gestes ancestraux. Au lever du soleil, dans les rizières surplombant la Mer du Japon, les reflets des premières lueurs jettent une ombre à la femme qui les pieds dans l’eau repique à la main les plans de riz.
Sweetness, tenderness, humor and requirement colors, lights, smells and kindness delicacy, sharpness, flavors and action… In a speedy universe everything is going slowly, where the speed of the sun seems to us faster than in the countries of the setting sun. As the case of a jewel, opening the box we discover the sharpness and the refinement of daily traditional gestures. In the middle of the woody hills, we are discovering the paper Washi making with the tradition of ancestral gestures. In the sunrise, in rice fields overhanging the Sea of Japan, the reflections of the first lights we are looking the woman shade who, feet in the water is repiquing the new plans of rice.

Je vous présente juste des dessins réalisés sur un tout petit bout de l’inde, le Radjastan, petite parcelle où se confronte une fuite en avant vers une « modernité » inspirée par l’occident. Curieux sentiment lors d’une première visite sur ce continent, inconsciemment je suis à la recherche d’images de portraits, de costumes… qui soient à l’image des stéréotypes que j’ai accumulés dans ma petite tête.

I just present you drawings realized on a quite small end of India, Radjastan, small plot of land where confronts a headlong rush towards a « modernity » inspired by the west. Curious feeling during a first visit on this continent, unconsciously I am in search of images of portraits, suits … which are just like the stereotypes which I accumulated in my small head.

Ile Maurice…
L’ile aux mille senteurs douces ou épicées, aux mille saveurs tendres ou corsées, aux mille couleurs transparentes ou acidulées… Au cœur de l’Océan Indien, comme une grande dame au milieu des eaux, l’île Maurice se tient haute, digne, élégante, forte de sa population exigeante et tolérante. Étonnante ile, petite et perdue au milieu de l’Océan, elle dévient immense quand on découvre la richesse et la diversité de ses plantes, ses fleurs, ses lagons de pierres noires sous des cieux aux couleurs de la mer du vert tendre au bleu le plus intense. Les dessins de l’Ile Maurice ont été réalisés sur IPad.
Mauritius island…
The island in thousand soft or spicy scents, in thousand soft or strong flavors, in thousand transparent or slightly acid colors… At the heart of Indian Ocean, as a lady in the middle of waters, the Mauritius Island is held high, deserving, elegant, strong of its demanding and tolerant population. Surprising island, small and lost in the middle of the Ocean, it go astray immense when we discover the wealth and the diversity of its plants, its flowers, its lagoons of black stones under heavens to the colors of the sea of the green soft at the most intense blue. The drawings of the Mauritius Island were realized on iPad.

Le voyage est un moment merveilleux pour capter par le dessin la pertinence d’un nouvel environnement, de nouvelles lumières de nouveaux visages. Je ne peux pas voyager sans mon carnet de dessin à la main, mes amis le savent et ne font plus attention à mes coups de crayon. Sur ce site il y a un mélange de dessins réalisés en noir et blanc, souvent au pinceau, ces mêmes dessins peuvent être mis en couleurs sur ordinateur ou réalisés directement sur mon iPad. Vous pouvez quelques dessins réalisés en Inde, en Iran, au Pakistan, en Egypte, à l’Ile Maurice…
Travel is a wonderful time to draw a new environment, new lights or new faces… I cannot travel without my sketchbook.
